Some Unholy Thoughts About Religion

In this book I discuss some aspects of religion from a non-religious point of view. I do not aim to persuade you to give up your religion. If it satisfies you, that's your business and none of mine. I believe that everyone is entitled to make their own decision about religion without being forced or coerced either for or against by other people. That is, it must be their own free decision to adopt or reject religion. Much of what is said about religion is lies, or is based on belief which is questionable, or is a rejection of the truth. I don't believe that any of those is a good basis for accepting religion. A lie is never a good reason for doing anything. A decision, to be or not to be religious, which will affect one's whole life, should be based on the truth not on lies or mis-information.

Realization Of A Fortnight

This is the story of my personal transformation in reverse. Simply stated I had a vision. I believe like Moses, Abraham and others I was graced with the vision of and communication from God. In believing the truth he told me his name. In that name of truth I do not believe I visited an Angel. This is a difficult story for me to tell. I am both fearful and driven. I know it is God's will to bring this writing to you. I started meditating with a need to solve the conundrums of life, the situation of my current living and a need to find the release of general negativity I did not want to feel. The bottom fell out on my life so I built a better one. Troubles followed me it seemed and internally; I needed a way out of the strife. One day while awake and meditating I was blinded by the light. It is really just that simple. I am not the first person to have an epiphany. I am not the first person to claim to have seen the light. I will surely not be the last.

The Hidden Meaning of Truth and Untruth

A lot of people struggle to understand what the truth is, what is right and what is wrong. There is perpetual dilemma to distinguish between right and wrong. According to Dada Bhagwan, the Gnani Purush (the enlightened one), in the worldly life there are three types of truth. One - absolute truth (self) second - relative truth and third - untruth. In this book, Dadashri has discussed the meaning of absolute and relative truth. Absolute truth 'I' can never be destroyed, it is eternal. It belongs to the soul (atma). The realization that you are pure soul (shuddha-atma) is eternal, and ultimate truth. Relative truth is what is determined by the people at large. The relative truth may vary from person to person. The relative truth may help us in our development in the relative world, but for real development absolute truth is necessary. The book presents Pujya Dadashri’s spiritual discourses on absolute and relative truth and the nature of truth.

Spiritual Warfare

The reason for the harsh realities in every corner of the earth is because Satan (once upon a time a good angel, but now full of evil) is the Prince of this earth. Satan has one goal which is to capture many souls to be destroyed with him in the lake of fire. Satan is an aggressive enemy of mankind who is overseeing the killing of many innocent people including children around the world. Sometimes, Lucifer is causing deadly sickness and disease, famine and economic depression among others. Whatever tribulations that human beings are faced with today cannot be compared to the torment or joy to come, but this book encourages the reader to choose joy and not torment. This book encourages you to choose and walk on the path of light. This book also enlightens the reader on spiritual warfare, how humans are trapped in the warfare and how to effectively overcome in spiritual warfare using the right spiritual weapons. This book concludes that, although, there are battles but the war is whether a person earn eternal life with God (which is victory) or ends in destruction with Satan (which is considered a lost war).

What Is Islam Religion?

The Arabic word "Muslim" literally means "someone who is in a state of Islam (submission to the will and law of God)". The message of Islam is meant for the entire world, and anyone who accepts this message becomes a Muslim. There are over a billion Muslims worldwide. Muslims represent the majority population in fifty-six countries. Many people are surprised to know that the majority of Muslims are not Arab. Even though most Arabs are Muslims, there are Arabs who are Christians, Jews and atheists. Only 20 percent of the world's 1.2 billion Muslims come from Arab countries. There are significant Muslim populations in India, China, Central Asian Republics, Russia, Europe, and America. If one just takes a look at the various peoples who live in the Muslim World - from Nigeria to Bosnia and from Morocco to Indonesia - it is easy enough to see that Muslims come from all different races, ethnic groups, cultures and nationalities. Islam has always been a universal message for all people. Islam is the second largest religion in the world and will soon be the second largest religion in America. Yet, few people know what Islam is.

Things to Remember: Reflections on Our True Identity

Through the ages, there have always been those who, when they looked at another, understood they were looking at themselves. Seers and mystics of all religious traditions have seen through the veil of form and recognised the essential oneness of all things. But what would be the implications if we held an awareness of the Divine in everyone all of the time? What if we tried genuinely to live this belief day by day, minute by minute, in the encounters we have with our family, with our friends, at work, and in society at large? This book is an invitation and a challenge to explore these questions. It draws on the author's own experiences as a Quaker and as a student of A Course in Miracles.

The Hidden Treasure

Everywhere across the world, whenever rich veins of gold are discovered in the earth, men are motivated to leave everything behind, and search diligently in hopes of striking it rich. In the second chapter of Proverbs, Solomon likens true wisdom to just such a rich vein of treasure hidden in a hillside, and admonishes all seekers of true wealth to give themselves up to pursuing this treasure. The pursuit is demanding, the wealth will be despised by the world and counterfeited by the Enemy, and the labor will be a life-long and toilsome affair; but when one has once glimpsed the nature of this gospel-gold, he will rejoice to sell everything he has, and be rich in its currency alone. This is because the wisdom of which Solomon speaks is only the deep and personal knowledge of God, which is to be found in Jesus Christ alone. Let us set out then! The fields are rich, and the Father will crown our efforts with good success. But if you would go, you must know that you will have to leave everything else behind...

Knowing Ourselves

If we would know how to live well and pursue our greatest and eternal happiness, we must know who we are, what we were designed for, and how to fulfill our created purpose. And to find the answers to those questions, there is no better place to go than the scriptures, inspired by the God who made us and who would still reveal his sovereign plan for our lives. Knowing Ourselves, while containing detailed outlines, brief introductions, and simple explanations, is composed largely of the simple text of scripture passages, which have been compiled and conflated for the purpose of laying out a unified picture of what God has to say about who we are, what various conditions or estates we may find ourselves in, and how he relates to us in each of those estates. Designed specifically for group study and discussion, this will make a useful tool for becoming more grounded in what the bible has to say about who we are, what God expects of us, and how he provides what he demands.

Knowing Our God

As created beings and the purchased possession of God, there is nothing more important for us than to know the triune God who is both our Creator and Redeemer. And if we would learn of God aright, there is no better place for us to go than his inspired word. Knowing Our God, while providing detailed outlines, brief introductions, and simple explanations, is composed largely of the simple text of scripture passages, which have been compiled and conflated for the purpose of laying out a unified picture of what God has to say about himself, and about how he relates to mankind in all its various conditions. Designed specifically for group study and discussion, this will make a useful tool for becoming more grounded in what the bible has to say about who God is, and what he becomes for us.

Studies in John

Known as the "spiritual gospel," John's account of the life of the Savior emphasizes the divine nature of the Christ, and the theological truths we may learn from his sign-miracles, and ultimately from his greatest sign of all, the passion and resurrection. Designed to guide an intensive fifteen week study, Studies in John is an in-depth, and yet a lay-level overview of the glorious person, words, and deeds of Jesus of Nazareth as recorded by the apostle John, who wrote so that we might believe "that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing we might have life in his name".

Story Albert Savarus

book Albert Savarus - Honoré de Balzac One of the few drawing-rooms where, under the Restoration, the Archbishop of Besancon was sometimes to be seen, was that of the Baronne de Watteville, to whom he was particularly attached on account of her religious sentiments. A word as to this lady, the most important lady of Besancon. Monsieur de Watteville, a descendant of the famous Watteville, the most successful and illustrious of murderers and renegades—his extraordinary adventures are too much a part of history to be related here—this nineteenth century Monsieur de Watteville was as gentle and peaceable as his ancestor of the Grand Siecle had been passionate and turbulent. After living in the Comte (La Franche Comte) like a wood-louse in the crack of a wainscot, he had married the heiress of the celebrated house of Rupt. Mademoiselle de Rupt brought twenty thousand francs a year in the funds to add to the ten thousand francs a year in real estate of the Baron de Watteville.

Holy war, holy peace: how religion can bring peace to the Middle East

The Intifada of 2000-2001 has demonstrated the end of an era of diplomacy in the Arab-Israeli conflict. The style of peacemaking of the Olso Accords has been called into question by the facts on the ground. Elite forms of peacemaking that do not embrace the basic needs of average people on all sides are bound to fail. The complete neglect of deeper cultural and religious systems in the peace process is now apparent, as is the role that this neglect has played in the failure of the process. Building on his earlier book, Between Eden and Armageddon, Gopin provides a detailed blueprint of how the religious traditions in question can become a principal asset in the search for peace and justice. He demonstrates how religious people can be the critical missing link in peacemaking, and how the incorporation of their values and symbols can unleash a new dynamic that directly addresses basic issues of ethics, justice, and peace.Gopin's analysis of the theoretical, theological, and political planes shows us what has been achieved thus far, as well as what must be done next in order to ensure effective final settlement negotiations and secure, sovereign, democratic countries for both peoples.

Hell is Bigger than Heaven

This book takes a look at the religious world, everything from the true believers to the outspoken atheists. The book is told with a witty, satirical tone as well as revealing a great amount of scholarship as a departure point for mockery. The existence or non existence of hell pervades the book, but the easily readable sentences provide a closeness between author and reader. By the last chapter, I leave the reader with one word: love.
